America

Coach Cintron, already on the bench of NT, goes back to Puerto Rico

Leones de Ponce announced Manolo Cintron as the head coach of the team for the rest of the season. Cintron is also the head coach of the Puerto Rican national team.

Cintron comes from coaching Toros de Aragua in Venezuela where they had a 13-23 record.

Ponce has a 3-10 record and is in last place along with Guaynabo.

He will be also working with the national team that is currently preparing for the 2009 FIBA U19 World Championship in New Zealand.

"Because of the national team I had to come back to Puerto Rico and the opportunity to coach Ponce came at the same time. I will be working with the national team in the morning and evaluating the players," said Cintron who will make his debut today against Cangrejeros de Santurce in Coliseo de Puerto Rico.
