Smith reached 1.000 blocks at the age of 24 years and 59 days

Hawks forward Josh Smith became the youngest player to reach 1,000 blocks for his career on Tuesday night.

Smith recorded his 1,000th block with 8:29 left in the first quarter of Atlanta's loss to Oklahoma City when he rejected a shot by Nenad Krstic.

He reached 1,000 blocks at the age of 24 years and 59 days, more than a year younger than the previous record-holder, Benoit Benjamin.
