Pepsi Caserta trying to sign Rashad McCants

After the arrivals of Kevin Fletcher and Alex Righetti, Pepsi Caserta is trying to bring in former North Carolina standout Rashad McCants.

The guard was selected by Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2005 NBA Draft with the 14th overall but he did not have in the NBA the career expected. His best season in NBA was in 2007-08 when he averaged 14.9ppg in 75 games with Wolves.

Last year he was close to penning a deal with a Chinese team but at the end the negotiation failed and he returned to US playing in NBDL with Frisco Texas Legends. In 11 games in D-League, McCants averaged 14.1ppg, 2.9rpg and 2.2apg.

His dream is to return to the NBA but with the lockout, Caserta convinced him to accept the idea to play overseas for one season.
