Daniel Hackett signs for Benetton

BENETTON: Inks Daniel Hackett

Benetton Treviso keeps putting together a strong roster for the 2009-10 Euroleague Qualifying Rounds by inking young guard Daniel Hackett to a one-year deal, the club confirmed Tuesday. Hackett (196, 21) arrives from the University of Southern California, where he averaged 12.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 35 NCAA games this season, helping his team to win the Pac-10 Tournament. Hackett also played for Scavolini Pesaro's cadet team. Hackett helped Italy to win the bronze medal at the 2007 European under-20 Championships played in Nova Gorica, Slovenia. His father, Rudy Hackett, played for nine years in Italian basketball in teams like P.S.Giorgio, Reggio Emilia, Livorno or Forli.
