Malcolm Thomas in advanced talks with Maccabi Tel Aviv

Free agent power forward Malcolm Thomas, 23, is approaching a roster spot with Israel's power Maccabi Tel Aviv, league sources told Sportando on Thursday.

Yesterday, Aaron Mintz, Thomas' agent and Maccabi's head coach David Blatt, held discussions that were described "very positive."

Earlier this week, Thomas attended workouts for the Miami Heat. The 6-foot-9 San Diego State University product played an instrumental role on the Chicago Bulls’ summer league team this past July, posting double-double averages of 11.4 points and 12.4 rebounds.

Thomas appeared in three regular season games for the San Antonio Spurs last season.
