Red Star Belgrade inks Filip Videnov

The Bulgarian left Spain

The Bulgarian National Team player Filip Videnov has signed a deal with the Serbian team KK Crvena Zvezda “Red Star” Belgrade. Last season the 6’5” guard played for Kalise Gran Canaria in the prestigious Spanish ACB league. Filip also played for Bulgarian team on EuroBasket 2009 in Poland where he averaged 13.2 ppg, 5.2 rpg and 4 apg, ending the contest as fifth ranked assistant. Videnov graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2003 and played professionally first in his native Bulgaria with BC Levski Sofia and later with KK Split in Croatia, SLUC Nancy in France, Tekelspor in Turkey. In May 2006 Filip started to play in Spain first with the Real Madrid, then with Caja San Fernando Sevilla and last with Gran Canaria. In 2008 he also played in the Italian SerieA league with Solsonica Rieti.
